PROGRAMME OF THE COURSE
The workshop is directed to conductors, pianists and singers who want to increase their experience with the operatic repertoire and work as professionals in the world of classical music as well as conductors and singers at the beginning of their career who want to deepen their knowledge of the repertoire.
The course is articulated in n°4 (four) days of lessons.
The conductors will have daily podium time and daily frontal lessons with the teacher, the singers and the pianists will work daily with the teacher and the student conductors on their role in the opera.
CONDUCTORS
The best students will have the opportunity to be invited to assist M° Allemandi in an operatic production in the next season, thus having the possibility to work directly with M° Allemandi in some important opera house.
For the latest editions of Italian Opera Workshop four students have been selected, Mr. Etienne Ferrer from France and Mr. Federico Toscano from Italy have been invited to assist M° Allemandi at the Hungarian National Opera during the production of Lucia di Lammermoor and Verdi’s Requiem. Mr. Deun Lee from South Korea as been invited to assist the production of Il Trovatore at Teatro Coccia in Novara, where he has been hired as Assistant Conductor by the theatre. Mr. Stefano Teani has been invited by M° Allemandi to assist him at the production of Falstaff at Palm Beach Opera in Florida. Mr. Niccolò Azzena as been invited as assistand conductor for La Bohéme at Semperoper Dresden and L’elisir d’amore at Teatro Comunale di Modena.
SINGERS
The best singers and pianists will have the opportunity to be recommended to agencies and casting managers in the prestigious theatres where M° Allemandi works.

PASSIVE STUDENTS

The application fee has to be paid at the moment of the application; the course fee has to be paid in two tranches, the first within July the 15th 2024, the second before the beginning of the masterclass.
The applications will be processed in order of arrival, there is no admission examination, even if we expect a basic knowledge of conducting technique and recommend some experience in conducting professional orchestras. In order to evaluate properly if Italian Opera Workshop is a good choice for the student’s particular situation, we encourage them to send an email or call the organizer before applying.
Passive students
The participation fee for passive students is unique and permits to assist to the whole day lessons; it must be paid at the moment of the application.
Meals and Accommodation
Meals and accommodation are up to the participants. The organization will offer assistance in finding proper accommodation in Florence for the period of the masterclass. Prices for a single bedroom range from € 30 per night.
Final provisions
The courses will be activated with a minimum number of students.
The application and participation fees will not be returned in any case, except the cancellation of the courses; in that case, the students will be promptly advised. Participation at the courses implies the full acceptance of the present rules. Artes Association will give prompt notification of any modification of the rules that may occur. For any legal action, the Italian text of the announcement must be considered. The competent forum is Prato’s.
